Emergency Services

24 hours/day – 7 days/week

The Alton C. Allen Emergency Department at LMC has 3 regular ER beds and 2 separate Trauma Rooms. The Emergency Department handles more than 3,600 visits per year.

Imaging Services

The Lewis Allen, Jr. Imaging Center at LMC offers:

Bone Density:  Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
CT Scan:  Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m./or as scheduled
Mammogram:  Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Ultrasound:  Monday – Friday 9:30 am. – 5 p.m.
Nuclear Medicine:  Tuesday/or as scheduled 
Diagnostic Studies:  Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m./or as scheduled


Monday 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Tuesday 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Wednesday 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

*Nuclear Medicine imaging system:  Millennium MG (TM) & Xeleris 3.1 (TM) workstations, both manufactured by GE Healthcare.  The system provides exceptional image quality and fast image acquisition.  Nuclear medicine imaging is unique in that it documents organ function and structure, in contrast to diagnostic radiology, which is based upon anatomy.  Some nuclear medicine imaging capabilities include:  visualizing heart blood flow/function, assessing lungs for respiratory/blood flow problems, analyzing bones, identifying gallbladder function/inflammation, identifying bleeding in the bowel, locating areas of infection, measuring the thyroid, localizing lymph nodes, determining size/shape of liver/spleen, and calculating the strength of heart muscle.

Inpatient Services

LMC has a 25-bed critical access medical care unit. The unit is staffed by Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Hospitalist/Nurse Practitioner, Lauren Kutac, FNP-B, and Nurse Practitioner, Cindy Heibel, FNP-C are on staff Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to assist clinic physicians with inpatient care.

Laboratory Services

Lavaca Medical Center offers a full service lab for outpatient and inpatient diagnostic needs.

Outpatient Laboratory Hours:

Monday – Friday 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturdays 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Nursing Outpatient Services

Lavaca Medical Center Ambulatory Services include Outpatient surgical procedures performed by local and visiting specialists.

Lavaca Family Health Clinic – Chronic Care Management

For Medicare Patients:

If you have 2 or more chronic conditions, CCM (Chronic Care Management) services can help you manage your overall healthcare easier, so you can spend more time doing what you love!  The primary goal of this program is to help patient’s achieve a better quality of life through ongoing care and management of their chronic conditions.

Examples of chronic conditions include,  but are not limited to, the following:

  • Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia
  • Arthritis (osteoarthritis and rheumatoid)
  • Asthma
  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Depression
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS

Services Include:

  • At least 20 minutes a month of chronic care management services via phone.
  • Personalized assistance from a dedicated healthcare professional who will work with you to create your care plan.
  • Coordination of care between your pharmacy, specialists, testing centers, hospitals, and more.
  • Phone check-ins between office visits to keep you on track.
  • 24/7 emergency access to a healthcare professional.
  • Expert assistance with setting and meeting your health goals.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Offered through the Lavaca Medical Center Health & Wellness Center, Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a program for those that have been diagnosed with a chronic lung disease.  The program gives patients the ability to lead a fuller and more satisfying life, at their highest functional capability.

Pulmonary Rehab Can Help Many Chronic Lung Conditions Including, But Not Limited To:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Asthma
  • Interstitial Lung Disease
  • Bronchiectasis
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • Pulmonary Hypertension

The Fitness Center located in the Lavaca Health & Wellness Center is a medical-based fitness facility that not only serves fitness needs, but the overall health and wellness of its members. Whether you are a beginner or a fitness buff, the fitness center has a wellness program for you!
